If you didn't want to hire a pro, I would have your home treated with Precor 2000 plus. It's available at most DIY pest control stores or on line- Make sure YOU don't do the treatment and stay out of the treated area long enough for any slick spots to dry up and any smell to go away. It works very well without saturating the house with chemical and it lasts for about 6 months so you won't need to keep treating. If NO chemical is your desire then you might have a rough road ahead--Definitely make sure your animals get treated with the PROPER flea meds such as Advantage-- Knock off brands aren't worth the time. I should have said "do this" regardless of what route you take) Then you can make home made flea traps and this might help. http://pestcemetery.com/making-flea-trap/

Hope this helps & God Bless you and your baby to be

Hi, my home is infected with fleas and I am pregnant (6-10 weeks) I am very worried about harming my baby. I've been bitten several times from the fleas. I'm also worried about the chemicals that will be used to kill the fleas. What would be your advice to me on how to go about this and not harm my baby. Thank you so much in advance.

Hey Jenn,
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on my article. The miracle of a baby is one of if not the best gift from God. I understand completely when parents to be take every precaution. Insects and vermin however can be very detrimental to our health and pest control is very important for keeping our environment free from that. I hope other expecting parents read your comment and consider your words and advice.

Thank you

Great article. I am pregnant and own a pest control company. I also spray homes. When I became pregnant I checked with my doctor, the department of agriculture and reviewed the MDS sheets for every product I was using. I did determine that it was better if I stayed away from a couple of my chemicals and I wear a mask and gloves now to every job. I have sprayed the homes of pregnant women throughout their entire pregnancies and they all have very happy healthy babies.
