The only thing that stuck to it was my fingers!  But, I found Mosquito Dunk that you crumble up in water, wait a few minutes and then water the plant. This is supposed to kill the gnat larvae living in the plant soil. Then, I strung fly paper along the edge of the plant bowl to catch the flying gnats. The fly paper has worked VERY well-yes, it's a sticky mess getting it into place but, the sticky came off with Goo Gone. I also made the above trap with cider-vinegar. It drew those gnats in and they couldn't get out. I used yellow gnat trap with terrible results!
