Termite Teachable Moment Video Series-Termites Under The Slab

Termite Teachable moment htttp://pestcemetery.com/Home is a place where you should feel comfortable, impregnable and secure. It’s sometimes the one place where the homeowner can look to as an old friend who’s solid, safe and a respite they can always rely on. For the most part I think most of us feel this way.

Having said that, even the surest of us all still employ things like alarm systems, cameras, security locks, smoke detectors and all sorts of home improvements to, (I guess) add to that security level we already have. Why? Because safety and security is something no home owner can have enough of…because our home is our castle and the one place we depend on to keep them and their families safe and secure.

Although termite invasion may not rise to the immediate level that say a burglar would bring. It can be just as costly in terms of lost dollars and for some, it has left them with a sinking feeling that somehow their home, their castle, was just not as invulnerable as they had once thought.

The reason termites catch us all by surprise is that they are subterranean and often move in completely undetectable. It is sometimes years before a homeowner finds out they are infested with this home eating invader. It’s then they may wish they had some of the preventative measures in place to keep them out as they did the other more obvious dangers. However, just as alarms may fail or locks may be picked–termite treatments can also be exploited.

No other reason (in my experience) for termite treatment failure is constant moisture and most often this comes from leaky house pipes. The constant moisture will not only attract termites but actually “wash away” even the most well placed termite treatments. A/C drip lines are a big culprit but at least you can see these and even more importantly, reroute them. Leaks under the slab is by far a more insidious source for termite invasion.

This video series, “Termite Teachable Moments” is to highlight some of these termite dangers every home will face at one time or another and hopefully give you the knowledge of what to look for before termite damage occurs. Enjoy the video and look for others coming soon.
